Service Day: Temple, TX – Feed My Sheep
While attending their Annual Quality Summit in San Antonio, TX, along with 53 of Rosendin’s Quality Management Team from across our nationwide offices, a few employees had the idea for a spontaneous Service Day opportunity. During a wonderful team dinner at Pinkerton’s BBQ, employees found they had ordered more food than expected. Rather than let it go to waste, they packed up 22 full to-go boxes of warm meals, complete with utensils and napkins, to hand out to local unhoused individuals. A group of 10 volunteered to hand deliver the meals before returning to their hotel. Recipients of the meals accepted them with grace, and the whole experience, while requiring so little effort, left the volunteers feeling incredibly grateful.
Shout out to these volunteers for being conscious of their environment and for putting people forward in their hearts. It was a simple act, but it is a great example of a gesture we can all incorporate into our daily lives to make a difference. Not only did their effort prevent food waste, but it helped those in need. We are so thankful to have employees like them to accomplish our mission by positively impacting communities.
