Monthly President’s Letter: May 2025

It’s been a busy start to summer. We welcomed our first summer intern and hosted our first TRF Camp Build at MPS’s McKinney facility.

Dear Community Members and Builders,

TRF Camp Build season has officially started with our mini-camp in McKinney. Our team of local volunteers from Modular Power Solutions showed the campers that they could have a future in the electrical industry by teaching them how to read a tape measure, bend conduit, build virtually, perform an estimate of their virtual build, and wire their very own lamps! Our friends at Milwaukee showed the campers the proper way to handle hand and power tools. Our campers and their parents learned about apprenticeship and received their tools to continue building along with their certificates of completion. Our week-long camps start next week, so make sure to follow our YouTube channel to watch the daily videos.

We’re building and empowering the next generation of builders and owners!

Please join me in welcoming our first summer intern, Serena John. She is a Corporate Communications major with Honors at the University of Houston and is spending the summer helping us capture the camps and amplify our mission. If you meet her, please make sure to say hello!

Thank you to our communications committee members for planning some outstanding Service Days and providing opportunities for our volunteers to gather together to give back to our local communities. Congratulations to the Renewables team Brazoria job site for winning our Texas-wide book drive competition benefiting BookSpring! The trophy is heading your way!

I had the opportunity to connect with some of our nonprofits and meet with other corporate social responsibility professionals this month. Our team is doing a wonderful job of providing support for our communities that need the support now more than ever. One of our nonprofit partners awarded us the Bridge Builder Award for our Granting Days, which allow our grantees to share their work with other grantees and our employee volunteers.

Annual Grant Applications are rolling in with the July 1st deadline fast approaching. Please share our grants page with any amazing nonprofits in your local community. Help us show our community that We Care!
