Monthly President’s Letter: January 2025

Dear Community Members and Builders,
As we finish this first month of 2025, Dr. Martin Luther King’s words “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step” resonated with me. I encourage you to take the first step or continue the journey with us. We remain focused on our mission to positively impact communities, build and empower people, and inspire innovation. We hope you join this mission as we cannot do it without you in our community.
This month has been about planning, listening, and sharing. We have reached out to our past and future partners to join us by supporting our workforce development efforts at TRF Camp Build where as professionals in the construction industry, we can shape Gen Alpha about the excitement of safely building with confidence. If you are interested in helping The Rosendin Foundation, please share the TRF Camp Build application and sponsorship opportunities. Both close on March 31st.
This month, we approved emergency grants to help the fire victims in Los Angeles, ensure technology continues to protect survivors of domestic violence in Austin for an additional 3 years of life with our emergency grant when their AC unit went out, and help Charlotte residents in transitional housing stay comfortable despite heating systems failing.
In 2025, the Board plans to share $2.5M in annual grants. The deadline to apply is July 1st. The Board has allocated an additional $50,000 for emergency grants and as seen in the newsletter, has started distributing grants to nonprofits in need. Please invite the amazing nonprofits in your community to apply now.
The Board invites you to join us in local Service Days and Drives. We will launch a new volunteer platform to make it easier for you to learn about local volunteer opportunities.
In February, our Communications Committee will start roadshows to celebrate our accomplishments and preview the year. I hope you take the step to join.
Thank you for supporting The Rosendin Foundation and for being members of our community building efforts. Together we can climb the staircase.
In Community,
Jolsna Thomas, President
