Monthly President’s Letter: February 2025

Dear Community Members and Builders,
February, while the shortest month, has many important occurrences from Black History Month, President’s Day, Valentine’s Day, to National Canned Food Month.
We continue to live our core values of We Care, We Share, We Listen, We Innovate, We Excel, and We Are Thankful. Our team has been hard at work preparing for roadshows, TRF Camp Build, reviewing grant applications, and preparing for our annual fundraiser.
We have already distributed $37,700 in emergency grants, unprecedented in our five years of existence! As Mother Nature has been on a tear, I share this PSA to encourage you to build or refresh your emergency supplies kit. We want all our community members prepared if/when an emergency strikes.
Our Communication Committee led by Stacy Quilla is hard at work preparing for Roadshows. Please participate and learn all that we accomplished in 2024 and our plans for 2025. Some offices and job sites have kicked off the year with Service Days! Thank you.
I have a quote hanging in my office to remind me of the importance of kindness:
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop.
I encourage you to be kind. If you can help a stranger or coworker brighten their day, please do. There is a lot of uncertainty in our country and our nonprofit partners need our support even more. Many have lost federal funding and others are still recovering from national disasters. Grief and anxiety are at an all-time high, please come together through Service Days – they are a great reminder that we are all part of a community and are not alone. The Rosendin Foundation will continue to support you as we shore up our communities during these challenging times. Don’t forget to encourage the local nonprofits in your area to apply for an annual grant – the deadline to apply is July 1st.
Our TRF Camp Build Committees kicked off the 2025 season by reviewing their playbooks and are hard at work outreaching to local schools. Please help our local leaders by sharing our camper flyer and website with any schools or organizations with middle schoolers. As a reminder, sponsorship for TRF Camp Build closes on March 31st. We are 55% of the way to our goal and we need your help to secure the necessary funds to support our free camps. If you are in the Austin area, we encourage you to volunteer with us for our Prep Days on March 8th and 15th.
Thank you to those employees who recently became donors through paycheck contributions; your impact is doubled through the MPS/Rosendin match.
In Community,
Jolsna Thomas, President
